Let's Talk About Feminine Itch
The Feminine Itch Dilemma
Many Filipinas have this very problem. It’s part of the intricacies of being a woman. Simply put, it is an irritation that may be caused by a yeast infection known as vulvar candidiasis. This occurs because the skin of the vulva is sensitive and may be affected by changes in its environment. Anything from tight clothing to excess moisture to hormonal imbalance can make you prone to yeast growth that may lead to feminine itch. Aside from the discomfort, feminine itch could affect your concentration and may even cause you to lose sleep.
Nothing to be ashamed of
There’s no reason at all to feel embarrassed about feminine itch. It’s not unusual for a woman to have this. In fact, according to research, 23% of Filipinas experience it. Aside from yeast infection, which is a common cause of feminine itch, it may also be caused by skin irritation or allergies. It is important to apply the appropriate treatment that addresses the cause and provides immediate relief from the itching and burning sensations.
Not All Itches Are the Same
Sometimes, women think that itching is just a minor infection or allergy that can be cured by staying clean and washing frequently. While that may be true, there are times when itching may be caused by a yeast infection and washing with soap, feminine wash, and home remedies are simply not enough. What’s more, too much of these may cause dryness, which can aggravate itching.
